Greetings & Welcome to the Home of the Grizzlies!
Garfield Elementary is nestled in a beautiful neighborhood in San Diego’s North Park area. Our school is small in size, but BIG on community. We enjoy a culturally and linguistically diverse student population and our diversity is also reflected in our staff. We welcome and appreciate bilingualism and provide all parents and students the support they need to ensure they are able to fully engage in our learning community. Currently, our campus is closed due to COVID and our students are learning online. We do provide daily lunches Monday through Friday from 12-2pm and welcome you to pick up lunch. Please wear a mask and honor our commitment to social distancing.
As the principal of Garfield, my leadership is anchored in support and I deeply value the emotional and physical safety of students and staff. Students excel when they have support. Teachers advance their talent when they have support. Office, health, custodial, library, and nutrition staff enjoy their work and build positive relationships with students when they have support. Providing support and collaborating to solve problems are hallmarks of my leadership. I have been an educator for over 25 years. I taught grades K-3 and 5thin the Bay Area and Sacramento. Most recently, I was principal in the Sacramento area for 14 years at two different school sites.
I now have the opportunity to collaborate and support the children, families, and staff of Garfield Elementary and I am most excited to do so. Feel free to reach out to email me at [email protected] and I would be happy to chat with you further.
Go Grizzlies!
